Jefferson Hernández Flores

I'm an IT professional who collaborate with software developers, system operators and other IT staff members to manage code releases. They cross and merge the barriers that exist between software development, testing and operations teams and keep existing networks in mind as they design, plan and test.

I used to manage multiple static applications and some dynamic apps using ECS, I automated the CI/CD process with the AWS “Code” services stack, I also created some Bash and Python scripts to automate some other needed functionalities of the deploy process (like a deploy using FTP for example) and used Jenkins to automate other teams requests like a reports workflow. I also managed the apps logs and metrics with CloudWatch, executed application migrations from other cloud providers to AWS, used Terraform and Pulumi for IaC, created Dockerfiles and local test environments for the devs and helped them reviewing code or infrastructure errors in Angular or BackEnds like NestJS, Express and Laravel. I also created and managed the technical documentation of the projects in Confluence, and proposed a branching strategy plan according to each project needs to keep a healthy workflow with a rollback.

I worked as a DevOps engineer for one of the Edify’s clients "The NROC Project", on their application EdReady. To overcome the daily challenges I used tools like Elastic Beanstalk, RDS with Postgres Engine, Lambdas and Step Functions to automate processes, etc. I also launch changes and new infrastructure using Terraform as an IaC tool and to monitor and analyze the app code I implemented New Relic, Sonarqube and CloudWatch. I developed our automation scripts using Python and some of them with bash and to automate the CI/CD process I use GitLab CI with some bash scripts to complement the deployment process to Beanstalk. Besides my daily technical tasks, I give support to the team members solving doubts and issues they have with the testing environments or even if we have issues directly on production. I also used AWS SAM to implement our Serverless apps.

As a part of a scholarship in the UNA, I developed the system SISCOA. The system creates register forms, which can be share through a link and also get the results of the forms in PDF.

As a part of the class Systems Engineering, the students have to make teams working under the SCRUM agile methodology to develop a system for a sponsoring enterprise. In my case, I participated developing a process manager system for the Palmares Municipality. The system manage appointments and organize the agenda of the social workers, besides, manage some relevant documents, make charts and administrate user's roles.
